Herbal Treatments for Chickenpox

Chickenpox is a viral disease that is highly contagious and common among newborns and adults. The symptoms of chickenpox generally appear during the infectious stage. These include fever, fatigue, itchy rash, and loss of appetite. If you find yourself suffering from this infection, you can drink catnip tea sweetened with molasses. Make tea with queen of the meadow (2 tbs.), coltsfoot leaves (1 tsp.), and marigold flowers (2 tsp.). Mix all herbs in 2 cups of boiling water and let it sit for 20 minutes. Take one cup of this herbal treatment once a day to reduce fever.

Herbal Treatment for Ear Infection

Ear infection usually comes after cold or flu. It could also attack after some other kind of upper respiratory infection. A popular homeopathic remedy for ear infections is Vitamin C, which helps boost up the immune system and fight infection. You can also take an herbal treatment comprised of alcohol-free Echinacea if the infection has just begun. To ease the pain, use an herbal treatment of lobelia mixed with garlic oil or olive oil. Place a drop or two of this herbal treatment mixture in the affected ear and plug it with cotton.

Herbal Treatment for Sore Throat

Sore throat is a mild condition where in the back of the throat becomes irritated. In most cases, it is caused by a virus, such as the cold or flu virus. Sore throat may also be caused by medication, surgery, radiation, dust, smoke, chemicals, loud talking, tooth and gum infection, and allergies.

An herbal treatment for this is Echinacea. This herb is antiviral and antibacterial. It can also speed up the healing process and boost the immune system.
